How Preflights works, what it checks, and what happens to your files.

What files do I upload?
Your supplier file (a CSV — we map standard supplier and Shopify headers, German, Polish & English all work, and we flag anything we don’t recognize) is required. Add your Shopify product export (Products → Export → CSV) too, and we’ll also compare against what’s live in your store: price mismatches, stock conflicts, and products that would be removed.
Is my data safe? Does it touch my store?
Preflights is read-only and never connects to your Shopify store — no OAuth, no API keys, no write access. Your raw upload is used only for that one request and is not retained afterward. The derived report (no raw file) is kept for 90 days so your report link keeps working. We never train AI on your catalog.
What’s free, and what do I pay for?
Every inspection’s risk summary is free — your health score, the safe / review / blocked split, and the two costliest-mistake counts. Unlock the full per-product fix list for one catalog at $9. On Agency ($29/mo) up to 20 inspections a month unlock automatically. See pricing.
How do I read the report?
Products are sorted into Safe (import as-is), Review (a value looks off — confirm first), and Blocked (would break the import or be rejected). Every finding shows the category, the rule, why it matters, and a one-line fix. Fix the blocked items first; they’re the ones you can’t undo.
What can’t it check?
Anything outside the file: what your theme or apps do at checkout, Shopify’s own import-time validation, warehouse inventory, a Merchant Center suspension, or a manual override already live in your store. Treat the report as a second pair of eyes on the file, not a guarantee the import will be problem-free.
Can I get a corrected file?
On a paid report you can generate a safe-rows-only CSV — re-upload your file and we return only the products that passed every check (original values untouched), re-validated before download. We never write to your store; review the output before you import it.

Still stuck?

Email hello@preflights.app with your report link (the /r/... URL) and we’ll take a look. Never send your supplier file — the report link already has everything we need.
